Current Opportunities:

Full-stack Javascript Engineer

Who are we?

Kagami is a project incubated by venture builder, Kitefin Labs; a team of derivatives traders, asset managers and DeFi natives who invest and build within the Web3 ecosystem. We faced first-hand the challenge of actively managing a large capital base of liquid digital assets in a professionally responsible way while retaining full self-custody. With no solutions in the market that satisfied our criteria, we decided to design and build a product that would meet not just our needs, but those of the broader industry. The system design and prototyping has been underway for many months. We are now looking to hire an experienced engineer to join us in building a production-grade version of this market-leading platform.

What are we building?

We are building an advanced self-custody platform that allows organisations to manage their digital assets within the context of their organisational roles and according to their business and risk policies. Kagami is turnkey and openly available to anyone. With unique features such as quant-risk analytics and automated key management schemes, Kagami is a major leap forward for the industry.

Why work for us?

Kagami is a web3 startup pioneering a new approach to self-custody. Self-custody is an area of web3 that is showing strong growth despite a broader web3 downturn. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to shape the project in a meaningful way and be recognised as one of the initial team that brought Kagami from prototype to Alpha.

Who are we looking for?

An experienced full-stack JavaScript engineer with a proven track-record of end-to-end web development with an emphasis on quality and scalability. You will be the first full-time software engineer to join the company, so will be involved in leading the early stages of development as well as helping to grow the team.

We’re looking for someone to establish and maintain high levels of code quality, choose appropriate technologies, and implement best practices. Prior experience with blockchains or dApp development is not essential, however some awareness of these technologies and a familiarity of the Web3 ecosystem would be beneficial. We encourage experienced JavaScript developers looking to both work on an exciting new product and learn more about decentralised application development to apply.

What will you do?

● Work with the product team to bring ideas to development

● Write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for both the front-end and back-end

● Implement current best practices and coding standards

● Help to lead the development process and have an influence on growing the team

● Work effectively with a degree of autonomy, but also enjoy working collaboratively with others.

Requirements:

● 5+ years of professional experience

● A proactive problem solver with an eye for quality

● Senior-level expertise in front and back-end web development using JavaScript (ideally MERN or MEAN stack)

● Passionate about producing clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code

● Experience producing and consuming RESTful APIs

● Experience working with Agile methodologies

● Familiarity with modern web development best practices

● Some knowledge of cloud computing, ideally using AWS

● Strong English written and verbal communication skills

● Able to work well asynchronously across time zones

● A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Desirable:

● Experience with smart contract development using Solidity

● Experience with dApp development and related tooling such as web3.js, ethers.js, Truffle and Hardhat

● Blockchain literate, with a passion for decentralisation

● Up-to-date knowledge of the Ethereum ecosystem.

Compensation:

Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant and early equity in the project is an option.
